Sara Nadeau - Paintings the Wine Route Alsace France
Wine Wagon #1
Wine Wagon #1 was inspired by a wagon Sara saw that was made up of barrels of the various types of Alsatian wine.

The wagon is here juxtaposed with a painting of the vineyards of Alsace.

Wine Wagon #2
Wine Wagon #2 was inspired by the same wagon as #1

The wagon is here pictured with storks, the bird of Alsace.

The painting of the vineyards of Alsace appears as a vignette surrounded by grape leaves.

This painting is in a private collection.

Grape Carriers
Because of the hills that most of the grapes are grown on in Alsace, large mechanical harvesters are impractical.

A large percentage of the grapes are picked by hand and are collected in these grape baskets.

In this oil painting, Sara has pictured the baskets with the vineyards in which they are used.
